The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) allows eligible beneficiaries or their guardians to appoint someone they trust to handle their medical care, instead of having an agency administer the help.
This gives them full control over who handles their care, allowing them to choose a family member, neighbor, friend or a previous assistant to do the job.
