Webroot’s protection strategy isn’t very common. It places any suspicious file or programs in a virtual sandbox which analyzes their actions to determine if they’re a threat. This is different from the way that testing labs evaluate antivirus programs and could alter the scores Webroot receives in some evaluations. MRG Effitas, however, found that Webroot blocked nearly all threat samples either automatically or within a 24 hours. Its unique method of protection is what makes it the winner in this category.
Another benefit of Avast is its extensive support choices. Avast has a knowledge base on its website, which includes tutorials on support as well as a resident forum where users can ask questions and get answers. It also offers phone support for premium customers (with lines available in Europe and the US) and live chat.
Webroot is, on the other hand, doesn’t provide the same number of support options. However, it does have a large presence on social media and offers users free discussion boards. Its customer support is more efficient than Avast however, it does require a subscription for its phone support.
